Part 21 – Sweet Nothings

Hauling himself up onto the sill of the open window, Wei Wuxian grinned, unable to contain his excitement. “Hanguang-Jun! You waited up for me, I see.”

From the desk where he’d been sitting, Lan Wangji regarded him. His light eyes seemed to glow with warmth. The white robes he wore for sleeping weren’t all that different at first glance from his everyday garb. But Wei Wuxian could appreciate the distinction. There was a subtle sheerness, a looseness of the collar which excited him further, as Lan Wangji set his brush down and crossed over to the window.

“You are late,” he said.

“Now, now, Lan Zhan, don’t be fussy,” Wei Wuxian chided brightly. Holding out his arms like a child, he waited for Lan Wangji to draw him down from his perch. “There were a few complications I had to sort through first.”

“Mn.”

As Lan Wangji held Wei Wuxian to him, Wei Wuxian clung back in perfect contentment. He felt that he could stay like this forever. But then he also wanted to kiss Lan Wangji. And so, after just a moment of embracing, he lifted his face and crushed his mouth hungrily to his husband’s. Just as hungrily, Lan Wangji kissed him back. It wasn’t long before something big and hard stabbed into Wei Wuxian’s stomach.

“Is that Bichen?” he teased.

“No,” Lan Wangji said, stabbing into him again as he backed them toward the bed.

Wei Wuxian’s lashes dipped coyly. “I thought you said it was late.”

“I said you were late.”

“Hanguang-Jun, you’re tireless. I really can’t keep up with you.”

Lan Wangji’s lips twitched. “Nonsense.”

Smirking back, Wei Wuxian took Lan Wangji’s earlobe between his teeth and gave him a sharp little nip. This was a hidden weakness of Hanguang-Jun’s. As he shivered, Wei Wuxian slicked his tongue over the tiny indentations he’d left in that flawless jade skin. Lan Wangji’s breath hissed out of him at the contrast of sensations.

“I’m feeling lively now, Hanguang-Jun,” Wei Wuxian said lowly, palming Lan Wangji through his robes. “You’ve stirred me up. Now you’ll have to fuck me or I won’t be able to sleep a wink.”

Lan Wangji’s mouth did something funny. Like he couldn’t figure out what expression to make at Wei Wuxian’s dirty talk. The result was a twisted sort of grimace Wei Wuxian found entirely too appealing. Happily he laughed, giving Lan Wangji’s cock a loving squeeze.

“You’re too funny, Lan Zhan. You always have been. No, don’t pout. I mean it in the best possible way. You know that I adore you.” When Lan Wangji still sulkily refused to meet his eye, Wei Wuxian leaned up and kissed those firmly pressed lips until Lan Wangji relented and melted into him back. “Remember when we were boys,” Wei Wuxian whispered in his ear, “and you got so mad at me over that pornography book, and the most you could manage to do for all that was to shout at me to get out of the library?”

Lan Wangji’s long lashes were lowered. Lightly they feathered against Wei Wuxian’s cheek. “I remember.”

“Well, it’s like that,” Wei Wuxian said, smiling as he tugged open his husband’s lapels. “You’re too fine a person to say filthy things, even if you feel them. So I have to say them for you.” Skimming his lips down Lan Wangji’s elegant throat, Wei Wuxian let his smile turn wicked. “But truly, Lan Zhan, you’re much filthier than I am. Even when we were boys, you were dreaming about holding me down and shoving your cock in my—”
