Flying out to rural Texas this weekend to visit my one-and-only mother! I’m not from Texas, nor am I from the middle of nowhere per se, but I can definitely appreciate a slower pace of life. My line of work has tended to land me in big cities over the years, and the hustle and bustle of urban life leaves me feeling stressed and claustrophobic after a while. So I gotta say I’m looking forward to the change in scenery.

…Not to mention the cute local critters!

Okay so these are actually my aunt and uncle’s donkeys. But you get the idea!

So bye bye city and tech scene! For a few days, at least. 😊

In other news, as loathe as I am to recommend incomplete fics (because there is nothing sadder, right? *dodges rotting fruit and cabbages*), I gotta give a shoutout to the lovely and talented Imani Joain after recently discovering her fic Heated Blood! Holy smokes, what a hot fucking read. I’m about 10 chapters in, and I can already tell this fic’s gonna make me a flight risk because there’s no way I’m stopping reading it! Oh, the hotness—it’s the good ol’ “Kagome discovers Sess in a highly compromising situation” plot arc, and so expertly and erotically rendered! (dies)

Kudos, Imani! Seems she’s been busy with some original work recently, so the fic hasn’t been updated since late 2017, but goddamn…😆 I’m pretty sure I could wait forever for this one!

Anyway, if you’re looking for an awesome completed work of hers, Second Alliance is top-notch in every way!  (Sadly I haven’t read it all the way thru yet myself after falling off the FF scene for a couple years, but still I can say that it’s an amazing work and certainly on my radar to devour when I can devote the time for this 400k+ word masterfic!)

    1. I’m sure she will someday!! Ahh now I’m dying to start Second Alliance over again – hopefully I’ll have some time soon! I wanna give that fic the full attention it deserves 😊💕
