Control Side-Stories: The Crucible (Explicit)

Sesshoumaru emerged from the frigid stream. Beads of water skittered down the planes of his chest, his stomach. His breath misted before him as he gathered up his heavy hair and wrung it briskly dry. The mountain breeze soon wicked away the rest.

Still flushed from his encounter with Kagome, he gave his cock a languid squeeze. His tongue slid slowly along the tapered edge of a fang. The taste of his own blood was bracing.

Such sweet tyranny she had subjected him to. The best sex of his life, and he hadn’t even fucked her. That she was as mad and monstrous as himself went without question.

Smirking at this, he recalled the full, breathy part of her lips, the sultry wet scent of her cunt. A pity she had refused to let him return the favor, but the woman was stubborn as an ox—and he would have her no other way.

Skimming the pad of his thumb over the head of his sex, he allowed himself a rare moment of indulgence. The events of this evening had at last left him guiltlessly sated. He relished the feeling, even as he hungered for more.

All in good time, he assured himself, as he released his stiffening cock and reached for his clothing instead.

As he was pulling on his outer haori, a familiar presence buffeted at his senses. Turning toward the stream, he watched as the churning waters smoothly coalesced, into the shape of a man.

“Hirokin,” Sesshoumaru said, adjusting the ties of his hakama. “You were in attendance.”

“Sesshoumaru-sama.” The river demon bowed. Through the eddying current, he waded closer. His eyes glinted, dark and mirrored, like the surface of the stream. “That was quite the display. One would hardly believe your priestess is human.”

It was a thought Sesshoumaru had reflected upon himself. “Your impressions,” he demanded brusquely.

“Intrigued, my lord,” Hirokin answered with candor, “yet not convinced. For that, more is required.”

“Much has been required already,” Sesshoumaru said, eyeing him coldly, “no thanks to your father’s blunder with that dragon.”

“A misstep which I have endeavored to correct,” Hirokin replied, inclining his head in deference. “Patience, my lord. You have not rebuilt your father’s shattered kingdom only to see it splintered again in reckless want. The miko’s strength is a testament to your skillful handling. That I am not ferrying another body out to sea this night is a victory in itself, is it not?”

This, Sesshoumaru could concede. Stonily, he regarded his silver-tongued vassal.

“What do you propose?”

“To test her further, Sesshoumaru-sama.” Darkness played across Hirokin’s fair features. “I would gauge her purported merits for myself, and see that they find the proper audience. Much, after all, is expected.”

“Then see to it,” the demon lord commanded, replacing his armor and affixing his sword. “The fate of your house yet lies in the balance.”

With an elegant nod, his vassal withdrew. “Yes, my lord.”

“And, Hirokin.”

The river demon paused, turning in question. Sesshoumaru’s smile was mirthless, thin.

“So much as touch her,” he said, low and dark with promise, “and you will rue every breath you’ve ever drawn.”

Unease rippled briefly through Hirokin’s serene expression, before calming once more. “I have no desire to court your wrath, sire.” Slipping with grace into the rushing current, he added silkily, “Nor any mortal, however intriguing.”

Darkly, Sesshoumaru stared after him, considering. His claws flexed at his side. Draping the long train of his fur over his shoulder, he relaxed them, and set off to collect Kagome instead. In the charred remains of the clearing, he saw her footsteps leading off into the woods.

Her defiance was as predictable as the path she had taken. But it was no matter. For far too long Sesshoumaru had been at war with his own self. Now, out of the fires of this night, he could feel himself becoming whole again. The dissonant pieces of his reason and nature fused together once more, strongest at the seams.

It was Kagome who wished to remain divided. Yet he could feel the futility of her strife, the collision sure to come.

What had been set into motion between them could not be stopped. Not by him, and certainly not by her. He could only steer the course.

Ashen soot crunched beneath Sesshoumaru’s boots as he stepped forward in pursuit of her—of all that awaited him.

His dynasty, his deliverance.

His dominion over the chaos that raged within him.

  1. Whoa, this has all been planned? Evidently, this has been going on longer than Kagome is aware if Hirokin has been deposing of bodies. What is going on here?

  2. Wow the plot thickens…Has Sesshomaru coveted his brother’s wife this whole time? Intending for her to be tied with him and using Inuyasha’s own recklessness to get him out of the picture.

  3. What a wicked plot twist! Maybe this will explain Sesshomaru’s fixation on human females and his inability to get his beast under control,

  4. Ok this is such a good twist! So is the mishap with the dragon the incident that killed Inuyasha? The plot just gets better and better.

  5. UGH, YOUR MIND!! Every time I see an update from you, my heart starts racing because I know you’re going to take me for a ride. As expected, Sesshomaru has been in control the entire time. Poor Kagome*snickers*.

    1. You took the words out of my mouth. If I had a wig I’d be holding on to it.

And LOL… Your name is hilarious. I love it.

  6. Wait wait wait wait. So this started a long time ago. It wasn’t just a few years before we come into the story line. That’s… That explain the measured steps and the plan and the executions… Sufficiently creepy.

  7. Biggest plot twist so far 👌 love it!!!! Can’t wait to see how this diabolical plan further develops…

  8. Okay….?? What just happened? WAIT! What does this mean? I AM SO CLUELESS. Even before Kagome, something was wrong with his house? His father’s death and infidelity happened a long time ago so that can’t be it, right? And, if it’s the succession of the throne, Inuyasha doesnt want it. And she’s his deliverance? And they’re testing Kagome?!?!?! OHMYGHAD. It’s probably because they want her to be on par w/ Sessh and someone he can lead with?!??! I am so confused (note to self: dont read if you havent had a proper sleep for a long time). The water dragon that they were talking about is probably the one that killed Inuyasha. The question is, was it planned or an accident, and more importantly, does Sesshoumaru have a hand on his brother’s death? If I remember correctly, Inuyasha was running away w/ Kagome and I have a reason to think it was because Sesshou was inpursuit of her. I had to re-read a tons of time because my brain cant comprehend hahaha

ANYWAYS, I MISSED READING AND COMMENTING AND I AM SO EXCITED ON THE PLOT TWISTS HERE.
